Michelle's Law moves along — The House Commerce
Committee, in an emotional unanimous vote, recommended
the full body pass legislation extending health insurance
coverage to college students who must reduce course
loads to battle serious illnesses. The bill was sparked
by Plymouth State University Michelle Morse who was
battling colon cancer, but was forced to continue her
full class schedule in order receive health coverage.
Michelle's mother, AnnMarie Morse, was heralded by lawmakers
for keeping the bill alive in memory of her daughter
who died just days before the committee's vote.
